Mexico Lindo

There are several Mexico sims in SL, most of which were created by Spanish speakers for Spanish speakers. This is fabulous if you are bilingual like I am, but I figured for purposes of this hunt you intended that we go to the Visit Mexico sim. I hadn't been there for a while and was glad to see that they had added horseback riding to the activities offered.

PBS production space


While the production space was only so-so, the PBS teacher site had lots of good current events material. I particularly liked Kofi Annan's Conflict Resolution page.

Weather channel Island

I went skiing at Weather Channel Island, which I was very bad at, just like real life. The sim is really interesting, though. I like that it has both informational features and fun feathures like skiing and surfing. The PBS resource I liked the most is the Enviro-Tacklebox with the Extreme weather unit.

Great Wall In Second Life

It just happens that I used a video with a middle school geography class called "China Today" from Discovery Education. Spaceport Alpha

NASA has long been a presence in Second Life. Their exhibits of spacecraft and the ability to teleport around the solar system have made it one of the most interesting and educational areas available to the public. The regular NASA website also has excellent information for both students and teachers. Here is a
